Your hosts Chris and Annette would like to welcome you to The Olive Grove, nestled above Robinsons Bay, close to picturesque Akaroa. The Olive Grove is just an hour from Christchurch and is the perfect place to relax, indulge, explore and experience the unique atmosphere of the beautiful Banks Peninsula.
The historic French village of Akaroa with its shops, cafes and restaurants is just 5 minutes away. Set in an established garden and working olive grove, the original bay villa was built in 1915 and extensively restored in 2004 when a second storey accommodation area was added.
Traditional features such as pressed zinc ceilings and leadlight windows were retained. Guests enjoy spectacular harbour views from the outdoor spa pool, their balcony, bed and private bath.
Wander through the garden and let the sound of the native birds take you back to the days when the surrounding area was totara covered bush land. On cooler days, curl up in front of the open fire in our cosy guest lounge. Enjoy a sunset stroll in the olive grove and taste our olives and extra virgin and infused olive oils over a complimentary pre dinner drink.
Our delicious and varied breakfast includes home-made muesli, yogurts and jams, freshly squeezed juices, seasonal fresh fruits and a selection of cooked dishes.
