From 1993 to 2005, we worked
and lived overseas (Sri Lanka, Venezuela and
Argentina). As a result we were able to travel
extensively and experience other countries and
cultures. Often staying in B&Bs, we came to
enjoy the experience of meeting and being hosted
by so many wonderful and interesting people. We
always thought that maybe we would do it
ourselves one day. An opportunity to take early
retirement from corporate life has enabled us to
pursue this dream.
When we first saw "The Olive
Grove" in Robinsons Bay we fell in love with the
beautifully renovated villa and the charming
gardens, not to mention the stunning views and
the olives .... It was meant to be.
In June 2006 we became the
new owners and with it a chance to continue our
hobbies and interests. Annette enjoys painting
and is hoping to be inspired by the beautiful
surroundings. Her great great grandparents
settled in Banks Peninsula in the early 1840s.
Chris is a keen gardener, and golfer.
Having lived and travelled
throughout out New Zealand and the rest of the
world, we believe that Banks Peninsula is one of
the most beautiful places there is. When you visit
us you will see what we mean..... We look
forward to hosting you at The Olive Grove.
