Your hosts, New Zealanders Chris and Annette Moore, lived and worked overseas for a number of years before returning home and moving to “The Olive Grove” in Robinsons Bay.
Since 2006 Chris and Annette have enjoyed hosting guests from all over the world, sharing experiences of travel and cultures. They also enjoy developing the grove and producing their very fine quality extra virgin olive oil and table olives. Originally from Christchurch, Annette has a strong connection to Akaroa. Her great - great - grandparents settled there in the early 1840s. Annette enjoys gardening and paints in watercolour and acrylics.
She has been painting since 1994 and enjoys capturing the mood of the places she has lived.
Akaroa and the surrounding area are the inspiration she draws on now. She has been part of exhibitions in New Zealand and Venezuela and has works in private collections all over the world. Chris is a passionate sportsman with a love of rugby, cricket, golf and is a keen gardener.
